About The Event

We are so grateful to all of you that have taken part in Team PollinATE this year. Even if you only registered as a volunteer, you still provided us with valuable information about where and how people grow food in the city. Therefore we'd love for as many of you as possible to join us at the Brighthelm Centre on Wednesday 28th November to hear all about how the data you've collected over the past two years has helped improve our understanding of urban food growing and the need for pollinators, and how we plan to use this information.

The event will feature will a short talk about the results of your pollinator, pest and harvest surveys, as well as the hand-pollination experiments I conducted on some of your plots. Are there enough pollinators in Brighton & Hove? There will also be an update from Janine on the results of the companion planting experiment that many of you helped to design- find out whether bee-friendly flowers really do affect crop pollination! There will be a chance to re-test your pollinator identification skills, to see if they have improved after taking part, and the opportunity to tell us what you thought of the project and what taking part in Team PollinATE has meant for you.
